Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Firmware Software Engineer for an IoT software development team. This role focuses on hands-on development for on-premise laundry solutions, working with sensors in washing machines that measure waterflow, temperature, and energy usage. The position involves architecting, designing, and developing full-stack software applications within the IoT domain, with a heavy focus on sensor connectivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in hands-on development, physically working with machines in a lab to test sensors and cycles.
- Develop code, support architectures, document designs, and create Proof of Concepts for dispensing and IoT equipment systems.
- Work cross-functionally with other development teams and stakeholders to document system requirements.
- Integrate software and hardware developed by other internal divisions.
- Participate in an Agile/SCRUM software development process.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a similar technical field is required.
Experience: 5 or more years of hands-on, relevant software development experience is required. The candidate must be proactive and able to work independently.
Technical Skills:- Experience in embedded RTOS firmware development using C or C++. FreeRTOS is preferred.
- Experience with serial communication protocols, specifically UART, SPI, and I2C.
- Experience with ARM-based microcontrollers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ModBus and CanBus.
- Experience with Bluetooth.
- Bare-metal development experience.
- Similar domain experience.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
