Job Title: Sr. Storage Engineer

Location: 100% Remote

Duration: 6+ Months Contract

Position Overview:

This is a remote U.S.-based contract opportunity supporting a strategic customer initiative through March 31, 2027, with strong potential for extension based on project success.

Responsibilities:

• Develop storage strategies, standards, reference architectures, and technology roadmaps aligned to workload and business requirements.

• Design solutions for block, file, object, software-defined, cloud, and high-performance storage use cases.

• Define approaches for backup, replication, snapshot management, archiving, disaster recovery, and business continuity.

• Evaluate storage performance, capacity, availability, durability, and data placement requirements across application tiers.

• Drive automation and lifecycle management to improve provisioning speed, consistency, utilization, and operational efficiency.

• Partner with security, data, application, infrastructure, and operations teams to address data protection and compliance needs.

• Lead technology evaluations, proof-of-concept activities, implementation planning, and transition into steady-state operations.

• Track consumption, growth, service quality, and cost to identify opportunities for optimization.

• Provide technical leadership and guidance for enterprise storage and data management initiatives.

• Communicate storage strategy, architecture decisions, risks, and recommendations to both technical and executive stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise storage solutions.

• Deep expertise in storage architecture across block, file, and object storage technologies.

• Experience with software-defined storage platforms and cloud-based storage services.

• Strong understanding of backup, recovery, replication, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.

• Experience with storage performance analysis, capacity planning, and optimization.

• Knowledge of data governance, compliance, security, and data protection best practices.

• Experience leading infrastructure modernization and transformation initiatives.

• Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field equivalent experience preferred.
