Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated Application Support Engineer with strong Java and PossibleNow background and experience supporting highly regulated critical PossibleNOW (compliance & consent management platform) applications in a production environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in PossibleNow app runs on AWS cloud, incident management, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and application reliability, along with familiarity in observability tools such as Splunk and Dynatrace.
This role will partner closely with Development, Infrastructure, Database, and Business teams to ensure high availability, compliance integrity, and performance optimization of customer-facing and regulatory applications.
Key Responsibilities
Production Support & Incident Management
Provide L2 Support for PossibleNOW applications in production.
Troubleshoot application issues across Java-based services and middleware.
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for incidents and recurring defects.
Participate in on-call rotation and ensure SLA adherence.
Manage incidents, problems, and change requests via ITSM tools (ServiceNow).
Application Monitoring & Observability
Monitor application health using Splunk (log analysis) and Dynatrace (APM & performance monitoring).
Analyze logs, JVM metrics, thread dumps, heap dumps, logs.
Proactively identify performance bottlenecks and recommend optimizations.
Build dashboards and alerts to improve observability and reduce MTTR.
PossibleNow, Java & Middleware Support
Debug Java-based PossibleNow and interface API/batch applications (Spring/Spring Boot preferred).
Analyze application logs and stack traces.
Support REST/SOAP integrations and troubleshoot API-related issues.
Work with application servers (Tomcat/WebLogic/JBoss).
Database & Data Support
Execute SQL queries for troubleshooting (Oracle/SQL Server).
Validate data integrity, troubleshoot batch jobs, and support ETL processes.
Assist in performance tuning and query optimization.
Release & Change Support
Support code deployments and post-release validation.
Perform smoke testing and production validation.
Coordinate with DevOps teams for CI/CD pipeline issues.
Participate in change management governance processes.
Compliance & Security
Support regulatory and consent management workflows within PossibleNOW.
Ensure compliance-related data accuracy and audit readiness.
Follow secure coding and access control practices.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor''s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field.
4+ years of Application/Production Support experience.
Strong hands-on experience with Java applications.
Experience with PossibleNOW platform (or similar compliance/consent management systems).
Experience using Splunk for log analysis.
Experience using Dynatrace or other APM tools.
Strong SQL skills for troubleshooting and data validation.
Understanding of Linux/Unix commands.
Knowledge of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Financial Services / Regulated environments.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub, AWS DevOps).
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS).
Familiarity with batch processing and file transfers (SFTP, Connect:Direct).
Experience with automation/scripting (Shell/Python).
