  • 3 days onsite per week, based on the manager's required schedule.

  • Occasional work outside normal business hours, including evenings, weekends, or holidays, may be required based on project needs.

Position Overview

Texas Health and Human Services Commission is seeking an experienced Project Manager 3 to lead and manage complex information technology projects.

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned Project Manager with 8+ years of experience, strong experience working with Texas HHS, and demonstrated expertise in managing healthcare-related technology projects. The selected candidate will be responsible for planning, budgeting, coordinating, overseeing, documenting, and successfully delivering complex projects while working with technical teams, business stakeholders, and integrated product teams.

PMP certification is required and must be clearly listed on the candidate's resume.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, manage, and oversee complex IT projects from initiation through implementation.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, resources, risks, and deliverables.
  • Lead technical software development teams and customer-oriented Integrated Product Teams.
  • Apply Agile Scrum and/or SAFe methodologies to project delivery.
  • Manage project activities using Azure DevOps and other Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tools.
  • Coordinate and support business analysis, business process mapping, and requirements documentation.
  • Manage and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to ensure project requirements and objectives are clearly understood.
  • Prepare project documentation, status reports, and project management deliverables.
  • Develop formal Business Cases and Project Charters as needed.
  • Identify project risks, dependencies, and issues and coordinate appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure successful communication and collaboration across technical teams, customers, and business stakeholders.
