Role OverviewThe Driver Platform team builds foundational systems for Windows device drivers-covering development, validation, certification, and delivery. The mission is to enable the ecosystem to ship secure, reliable, high-quality drivers at scale. The team owns core driver frameworks and Plug and Play (PnP) platform tooling for installation, servicing, lifecycle management, and developer kits (WDK, HLK).
Responsibilities- Build, validate, and ship next-generation driver platform components (WDK, HLK, Platform) to improve security and reliability.
- Debug complex driver/kernel mode issues across diverse hardware stacks.
- Investigate security issues and identify vulnerability patterns to secure the driver ecosystem.
- Collaborate with Windows teams and hardware partners to deliver robust, certifiable drivers.
- Drive AI-first engineering by creating and integrating AI agents across development, validation, debugging, and certification processes.
Typical Day- Work on improving reliability and quality of drivers.
- Support initiatives that enhance compatibility and stability across Windows platforms.
- Partner with internal teams and external hardware vendors.
Candidate Profile- Ideal Candidate: Demonstrates perseverance in solving complex issues, strong debugging skills, and consistency in completing tasks without breaking compatibility.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong C/C++ experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft security screening requirements.
Preferred QualificationsExperience in one or more of:
- Driver or kernel mode development
- Native C/C++ systems programming
- Complex systems debugging
- Verification tools (static or runtime)
- Security research
- Building or integrating AI agents
