Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Research Informatics / Scientific Solutions Consultant to support scientific research and development initiatives through the implementation and optimization of informatics platforms, scientific software, and end-to-end workflow solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of scientific domain expertise, informatics knowledge, and stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities
Scientific Workflow Analysis
- Collaborate with research and development teams to understand scientific processes and operational requirements.
- Analyze and optimize end-to-end scientific workflows across research environments.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, data management, and collaboration.
Research Informatics & Data Management
- Support research informatics platforms and scientific data workflows.
- Design and implement solutions that streamline data capture, analysis, and reporting.
- Ensure data integrity, traceability, and compliance with organizational standards.
- Facilitate integration between scientific applications and enterprise systems.
Scientific Software & Platform Support
- Configure, support, and optimize scientific software platforms and SaaS-based research solutions.
- Work with Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) systems and informatics platforms.
- Support platform adoption, user onboarding, and process standardization.
- Troubleshoot application and workflow-related issues.
Solution Design & Implementation
- Design end-to-end workflow solutions aligned with research and business objectives.
- Translate scientific and operational requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders throughout implementation projects.
- Support system enhancements, upgrades, and process improvements.
Stakeholder Management
- Engage with scientists, researchers, laboratory personnel, and business stakeholders.
- Facilitate workshops, requirements gathering sessions, and solution reviews.
- Communicate technical concepts effectively to both scientific and non-technical audiences.
- Drive alignment between business goals and technology solutions.
Required Qualifications
- 6–8 years of experience in research informatics, scientific software implementation, or related consulting roles.
- Strong scientific domain knowledge, including:
- Molecular Biology
- Biotechnology Workflows
- Research & Development Processes
- Experience with:
- Electronic Laboratory Notebooks (ELN)
- Scientific Informatics Platforms
- SaaS-based Scientific Applications
- Strong understanding of research informatics and scientific data workflows.
- Experience designing and implementing end-to-end workflow solutions.
- Proven stakeholder management and business engagement experience.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Benchling Bioresearch User Certification.
- Benchling Administrator Certification.
- Experience supporting digital transformation initiatives within life sciences organizations.
- Familiarity with laboratory operations, research data management, and scientific collaboration platforms.
- Experience working in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life sciences environments.
