Job Description

MAXISIQ is seeking a Systems Administrator / Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain the compute and virtualization infrastructure supporting the MuTC Advanced Cyber Center - Testing, Training, and Experimentation (MACC-TTE) program for the Indiana National Guard (INNG) at Muscatatuck Training Center in Butlerville, Indiana. This role provides hands-on system engineering across Linux and Windows environments, virtualization, automation, and storage/networking integration in support of the MACC-TTE Cyber Electromagnetic Activities (CEMA) range and its closed-loop IT, OT, telecommunications, and RF network environments. This role is designated Key Personnel and is contingent upon contract award.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain physical and virtual server infrastructure supporting cyber range operations, training events, and test scenarios.
  • Administer VMware ESXi, KVM, or Xen hypervisor environments as required by range architecture.
  • Perform configuration management and automation using tools such as Ansible; support scripting in BASH, Python, and comparable languages.
  • Administer SAN and VLAN infrastructure in coordination with the Senior Network Engineer.
  • Integrate camera systems, Industrial Control Systems (ICS/SCADA), IoT devices, and RF devices into range scenarios where required by mission need.
  • Maintain system baselines, patching, hardening, and RMF-relevant documentation to support ATO and continuous monitoring activities.
  • Provide operational support during training and test events, including incident triage, root-cause analysis, and rapid restoration of range assets.
  • Coordinate with network engineering, security, and range operations personnel on end-to-end range readiness.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Integrated Science and Technology, Information Technology, or a related discipline. Equivalent qualifying experience may be considered per contract terms.
  • Certification: Active certification that satisfies DoD Manual 8140.03 IAT Level II - e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE, CySA+, GSEC, SSCP, or a higher-level cert (CASP+/SecurityX, CISSP).
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of progressive systems administration/engineering experience, including senior-level responsibilities across Linux and Windows environments.
  • Virtualization: Hands-on experience with VMware ESXi required; experience with KVM or Xen strongly preferred.
  • Automation and Scripting: Demonstrated experience with Ansible, BASH, and Python (or equivalent automation/scripting tooling).
  • Storage and Networking: Working knowledge of SAN and VLAN administration.
  • Sensor/Device Integration: Experience integrating camera systems, ICS/SCADA, IoT, or RF devices into a test/training environment is preferred; documented exposure to any one of these is acceptable.

Clearance: Active TS/SCI security clearance required at start.
