Position: Google Cloud Platform Cloud / DevOps Engineer

Overview:
We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Google Cloud Platform Cloud/DevOps Engineer to own, scale, and secure our cloud infrastructure and continuous delivery pipelines. In this role, you will bridge the gap between software development and operations.
- You will manage our Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) ecosystem as code, automate software release cycles, and ensure that our production environments remain highly available, resilient, and cost-efficient
- You will collaborate closely with the AI engineering, QA, and security teams to build a secure, developer-friendly self-service platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Provisioning
- Automate Google Cloud Platform Infrastructure: Design, provision, and maintain secure VPCs, subnets, firewalls, and cloud resources utilizing Terraform
- Modular Architecture: Maintain and write reusable, well-documented Terraform modules to ensure consistency across development, staging, and production environments
2. CI/CD & Release Orchestration
- Deploy Automation: Design, build, and optimize automated CI/CD pipelines (using tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins)
- Quality & Security Gates: Integrate code quality checks, vulnerability scanners (SAST/DAST), and compliance testing directly into deployment pipelines.
- Artifact Management: Manage container registries (Google Cloud Platform Artifact Registry) and package managers
3. Containerization & Orchestration
- Orchestrate Kubernetes: Deploy, scale, and manage containerized workloads running on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
- Container Security: Implement Kubernetes security best practices, including Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), network policies, and secure secrets management
4. Monitoring, Observability & Reliability
- Systems Health: Set up and maintain comprehensive dashboards, logging, and alerting systems using Google Cloud Monitoring or external tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog)
- Incident Response: Participate in blameless post-mortems and incident resolution to proactively improve system resilienc
5. Security, Networking & Cost Control
- Secure Network Design: Architect secure VPCs, Cloud Load Balancing, Cloud NAT, and secure database connections (e.g., Cloud SQL with secure proxies)
- IAM & Access Controls: Administer IAM roles, service accounts, and principle of least privilege access
- Cost Optimization: Monitor cloud consumption and continuously identify opportunities to reduce waste without sacrificing performance or reliability
Required Technical Skills & Qualifications:
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Experience: 4+ years of professional experience in a DevOps, Site Reliability (SRE), or Cloud Engineering role
- Google Cloud Platform Deep Dive: Strong production experience working with Google Cloud Platform core services (Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, IAM, VPC)
- Infrastructure as Code: Proven hands-on experience using Terraform to manage large-scale cloud resources
- CI/CD Pipeline Expertise: Deep experience constructing deployment pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins
- Serverless Technologies: Experience deploying serverless application components (Cloud Functions, Cloud Run)
- Containerization: Practical experience with Docker and production Kubernetes/GKE orchestration
- Scripting & Automation: Strong proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash to automate routine tasks
- Linux Administration: Solid foundation in Linux/Unix system administration and troubleshooting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications: Google Cloud Platform Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect certifications
- Compliance Experience: Familiarity operating under compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, or HIPAA)
