Infrastructure Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce is working with a client that is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to support and evolve a hybrid cloud and on-premises environment. This role partners with cross-functional teams to design, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable infrastructure while improving performance, reliability, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience with infrastructure automation, monitoring, patch management, and Microsoft technologies, along with the ability to lead initiatives and contribute to long-term infrastructure strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
* Automate and manage Windows and Linux server infrastructure, including configuration management, baselines, and compliance
* Enhance infrastructure monitoring across cloud and on-prem environments to improve system visibility, performance, and security
* Own patch management for operating systems and third-party applications using automated, standardized processes
* Design and implement secure, scalable on-prem and hybrid infrastructure solutions
* Implement infrastructure-level security controls to protect systems and data
* Support and administer Microsoft technologies including Active Directory, Exchange, Azure IaaS, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365
* Lead or support infrastructure upgrades, deployments, and refresh initiatives
* Collaborate with internal teams, provide technical guidance, and maintain clear documentation
* Participate in after-hours support as needed

REQUIREMENTS:
* 6+ years of IT infrastructure experience
* Strong experience with Microsoft server technologies and Linux
* Hands-on experience with monitoring, patching (including third-party), and automation
* Proficiency in PowerShell scripting
* Experience leading or supporting large-scale infrastructure initiatives
* Familiarity with ITIL best practices
* Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
