Note: This is two roles; A Principal Engineer and a Senior Engineer

Overview

We are seeking experienced engineering consultants to support a high-impact initiative focused on improving software delivery performance and building long-term engineering capability. This engagement will combine hands-on execution with strategic influence to help modernize DevOps practices, introduce scalable automation, and integrate AI-driven efficiencies into the development lifecycle.

This is a collaborative engagement where you will partner closely with internal teams to enhance consistency, quality, and speed across engineering workflows.

Project Focus

The primary goal of this engagement is to stabilize and optimize delivery practices while establishing a strong foundation for continuous improvement. Key areas of focus include:

• Evaluating and improving existing DevOps, CI/CD, testing, and automation practices


• Designing and implementing repeatable automation and pipeline patterns


• Defining engineering standards for code quality, testing, deployments, and environment management


• Integrating AI-driven capabilities into development, testing, and delivery workflows


• Establishing a scalable engineering and DevOps maturity model


• Implementing measurable metrics to track delivery performance, quality, and progress

This engagement is designed to deliver both immediate operational improvements and sustainable long-term practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with engineering and delivery teams to assess current-state processes and identify improvement opportunities


• Design and implement scalable CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks


• Establish best practices for pull requests, testing strategies, and deployment workflows


• Introduce AI-enabled solutions to enhance engineering productivity and efficiency


• Develop and socialize engineering standards and governance models


• Define and track key performance metrics related to delivery speed, quality, and reliability


• Provide hands-on technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams

Top Skills & Qualifications

• Strong background in DevOps, CI/CD pipeline design, and automation


• Experience driving engineering process improvements in complex environments


• Familiarity with integrating AI or machine learning capabilities into software development workflows


• Proven ability to establish engineering standards and improve delivery consistency


• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams


• Experience working in advisory or consulting-style engagements preferred

Tools & Technologies

Experience with a combination of the following is preferred:

• CI/CD tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI)


• AI-assisted development tools and platforms


• Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform)


• Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation)


• Version control systems (Git-based workflows)


• Automated testing frameworks and quality tools


• Monitoring and observability tools


• Java engineering / development (earlier in career, current not needed)
