IT Operations Lead

Company Overview

A rapidly growing manufacturing and technology organization is seeking an IT Operations Lead to help scale corporate technology operations in Los Angeles, California. The company operates at the intersection of advanced manufacturing, software, automation, and engineering, supporting both corporate and production environments. This is an opportunity to combine hands-on technical expertise with team leadership while helping build an IT function designed for rapid growth.

Role Summary

The IT Operations Lead will oversee day-to-day corporate IT operations while remaining deeply hands-on with systems administration, automation, executive support, AV technologies, and service delivery. This role will help lead and mentor a growing team while developing automation and AI-enabled solutions that improve efficiency and reduce support volume. The ideal candidate has progressed from systems administration or engineering into technical leadership and has experience supporting a rapidly scaling organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day IT operations, establish priorities, resolve escalations, and mentor technical team members.
  • Build automation and integrations using Python, PowerShell, Bash, APIs, webhooks, and other scripting technologies.
  • Develop and optimize AI-enabled support workflows, chatbots, self-service capabilities, and ticket automation.
  • Analyze service desk trends to identify opportunities for automation, documentation, process improvement, and ticket reduction.
  • Provide white-glove technology support for executives, leadership teams, and other high-priority users.
  • Oversee conference room technology, collaboration platforms, live events, company-wide meetings, and AV operations.
  • Administer and optimize enterprise SaaS, identity, endpoint management, collaboration, and ITSM platforms.
  • Drive IT service management practices including SLAs, escalations, change management, asset lifecycle management, and operational documentation.
  • Partner with Security, Infrastructure, DevOps, Facilities, and business teams on cross-functional initiatives.
  • Manage technology vendors, licensing, service quality, and operational costs.
  • Support technology initiatives across corporate and manufacturing environments as the organization expands.
  • Help recruit, develop, and scale the IT operations team as business needs grow.

Additional Details
  • Work model: On-site, five days per week
  • Approximately 10-20% nationwide travel
  • Hands-on technical leadership role with significant opportunity to shape and scale IT operations
  • Some physical handling of IT and AV equipment may be required
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and satisfy applicable regulatory employment requirements


Requirements

Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of professional IT experience, including 2+ years of technical leadership, team lead, or management experience.
  • Strong background in corporate IT, systems administration, IT operations, or infrastructure support.
  • Hands-on scripting and automation experience using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar technologies.
  • Experience building technology integrations and automating operational workflows.
  • Experience administering enterprise technologies such as identity management, Microsoft 365, MDM, SaaS applications, and ITSM platforms.
  • Strong experience with executive and white-glove technology support.
  • Hands-on experience supporting AV and conference room technologies such as Crestron, Q-SYS, Logitech, or comparable platforms.
  • Experience managing IT service delivery, escalations, SLAs, change management, and asset lifecycle processes.
  • Demonstrated success operating within a rapidly growing or quickly changing organization.
  • Strong leadership, communication, troubleshooting, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)
  • Experience building AI-enabled IT support workflows, chatbots, or automated self-service solutions.
  • Previous experience as a Systems Administrator or Systems Engineer who progressed into technical leadership or service desk management.
  • Experience supporting both corporate headquarters and manufacturing, production, or field environments.
  • Background in aerospace, defense, advanced manufacturing, technology, or another highly regulated industry.
  • Prior software engineering, DevOps, or advanced scripting experience.
  • Experience building or scaling an IT operations team during significant organizational growth.
  • Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks such as NIST, CMMC, ISO 27001, or SOC 2.
  • AV or collaboration technology certifications.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
