job summary:

The Strategy & Planning (S&P) Product Portfolio Delivery team is seeking a Functional Tester who combines strong analytical and communication skills with a passion for quality assurance. This role works closely with business and IT stakeholders to develop and execute test strategies, validate system functionality, coordinate testing efforts, and support the delivery of high-quality solutions that meets business needs.


Role & Responsibilities


Review and analyze business, functional, and technical requirements to ensure they are clear, complete, and testable.


Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test data based on business requirements and acceptance criteria.


Execute functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) activities.


Identify, document, track, and retest defects, working closely with developers and business stakeholders to drive resolution.


Validate that system enhancements, configurations, and releases meet business needs and functional requirements.


Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and end users throughout the software development lifecycle.


Participate in requirements reviews, design sessions, sprint ceremonies, and release planning activities.


Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, defects, and delivered functionality.


Support test environment readiness, data preparation, and deployment validation activities.


Provide clear and concise communication on testing progress, risks, issues, and overall quality status.


Assist with coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test execution support and defect triage.


Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes, standards, and quality assurance practices.


Verify system functionality, usability, and data accuracy across multiple applications and business processes.


Support production validation and post-implementation testing activities following system releases.


Foster strong working relationships across IT and business teams to promote collaboration and successful project delivery.


Required Skillset for Testing Resource


Basic knowledge of software testing approaches: Agile, Waterfall, DevOps, SaFE


Strong verbal and written communication skills


Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.


Strong Experience with Azure DevOps Test Plans, Backlog and Dashboards


Test Plans and scripts with Azure DevOps Test Plan


Work Item resolution in Azure DevOps (Bugs, Incidents & Issues)


Experience writing detailed test cases/scripts from business requirements


Experience executing test cases/scripts


Experience with concepts of API testing using Postman


Experience validating business processes, system functionality, and data integrity.


Ability to react/produce in an Agile project atmosphere.


Ability to identify, document, and track defects through resolution.
