Job Description ECS is seeking a
Cloud Developer - Senior to work in our
Washington, DC office.
Research, architect, develop, and modify enterprise-scale cloud applications and infrastructure with a focus on automation, security, and maintainability
- Collaborate and support the planning of system and development deployment as well as meeting software compliance standards with a particular focus involving integrations and data analytic solutions.
- Design and implement solutions leveraging modern DevOps tools and practices, including infrastructure as code, container orchestration, and CI/CD pipelines
- Translate complex requirements into modular, testable components and technical documentation
- Support the ongoing maintenance, performance tuning, and security hardening of applications
- Contribute to Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and iterative delivery cycles
Salary Range: $180,000 - $190,000

Required Skills - Must have a current Top-Secret Clearance with the capability of obtaining SCI CI-Poly if needed to meet contract requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or related field
- 5+ years of experience designing and deploying large scale distributed environments within commercial cloud environments (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as AWS CloudFormation or Terraform
- Familiarity with containerization technologies including Docker and AWS Fargate
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLab or Jenkins
- Strong understanding of cloud networking fundamentals (e.g., NACLs, security groups, routing tables)
- Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences verbally and in writing to design efficient and effective applications.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting skills to resolve complex issues in distributed cloud environments
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an Agile team structure
Desired Skills - AWS/Azure Certification
- Experience with compiled languages such as Java, C++, or .NET
- Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST 800-53 and participation in ATO (Authority to Operate) processes
- Exposure to hybrid or multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure)
