Job Title: Cartographic Technician 2

Location: Vancouver, WA (Hybrid – 1–2 days onsite per week)
Employment Type: Full-Time (up to 40 hrs/week)

Job Summary

Seeking a Cartographic Technician 2 to support geospatial and remote sensing projects. The role involves working with GIS, photogrammetry, and aerial imagery to create and maintain geospatial datasets, maps, and spatial analysis products. The ideal candidate will have experience in imagery processing, GIS mapping, and geospatial data management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain geospatial databases and ensure data quality.
  • Create cartographic maps and GIS products following industry standards.
  • Support GIS projects including data conversion, editing, and spatial analysis.
  • Process and manage aerial imagery and geospatial datasets.
  • Assist with photogrammetry workflows (control points, orthorectification, terrain editing, aerial triangulation).
  • Handle ad-hoc mapping requests and spatial reporting.
  • Maintain metadata and documentation for geospatial datasets.
  • Provide geospatial support for infrastructure and mapping projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Geospatial Sciences, Land Surveying, GIS, or related field OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience as a Cartographic Technician or in geospatial mapping.
  • 2+ years of experience managing aerial imagery and imagery processing.
  • Knowledge of coordinate systems, datums, and spatial reference systems.
  • Experience implementing standardized geospatial workflows.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Esri ArcGIS
  • Experience with ERDAS IMAGINE
  • Experience with MicroStation
  • Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT) certification (preferred)

Additional Information

  • Hybrid work schedule (minimum onsite presence required).
  • Travel up to 5% to field locations or meetings.
  • Must have valid U.S. driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Background check required.
