Product Owner / Functional Consultant – Capital Markets (Equities & Derivatives)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Product Owner / Functional Consultant / Business Product Analyst with strong exposure to Capital Markets, Equities, and Derivatives workflows to support a high-impact financial services engagement. The ideal candidate will bridge business and technology teams, drive requirement gathering, validate workflows, support product execution, and collaborate with engineering teams on solution delivery.

This role is best suited for professionals who understand financial products, trading workflows, investment banking operations, or capital markets systems and can translate business requirements into actionable product outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Product & Business Analysis

• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements from stakeholders.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications and user stories.
• Drive requirement clarification between business teams and technology teams.
• Support product lifecycle activities including prioritization, validation, and implementation.
• Participate in solution discussions and recommend process improvements.

Capital Markets Domain Support

Work with stakeholders on workflows related to:

• Equities
• Derivatives
• Options
• Futures
• Swaps
• Trading lifecycle processes
• Prime brokerage concepts
• Institutional investment workflows
• Capital markets products

Understand business processes and validate that delivered solutions align with functional requirements.

Stakeholder Management

• Act as liaison between business users, product teams, QA teams, and engineering teams.
• Facilitate workshops, requirement sessions, and status discussions.
• Communicate risks, blockers, and delivery updates.

Testing & Validation

• Support UAT and business validation activities.
• Review test scenarios and ensure requirements coverage.
• Validate workflows against expected business outcomes.

Product Delivery Support

• Assist in roadmap discussions and execution priorities.
• Collaborate with development teams during implementation.
• Ensure delivered functionality aligns with business objectives.

Required Qualifications

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in one or more of the following:
  • Product Owner
  • Functional Consultant
  • Business Analyst
  • Product Analyst
  • Capital Markets Consultant
  • Financial Systems Consultant

Domain Expertise (Must Have)
