Job Summary:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring products, processes, and systems meet internal quality standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory and industry standards. This role partners closely with manufacturing, engineering, and management to drive continuous improvement, resolve quality issues, and maintain compliance with AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 requirements.
Primary Duties
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems, procedures, and standards to ensure consistent product quality.
- Monitor manufacturing processes to identify defects, nonconformances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Lead root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Analyze process and quality data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities; recommend and implement solutions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable customer requirements, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare, maintain, and control quality documentation, including procedures, work instructions, reports, and records.
- Conduct internal audits, process audits, and product inspections to evaluate effectiveness and compliance.
- Collaborate with cross?functional teams—including Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain—to resolve quality issues and improve performance.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to team members on quality systems, procedures, and best practices.
- Report quality performance metrics to management and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Quality role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Quality Management Systems, preferably AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015.
- Proven knowledge of Quality Systems in a Manufacturing environment.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Expertise with analytic tools, such as spreadsheets and database managers.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents.
- Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to move throughout the manufacturing facility and navigate stairs.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to visually inspect products and review hard?copy engineering and customer specifications.
