The Work

The VTC (Video Teleconferencing) Technician is responsible for the end-to-end management of video teleconferencing systems and related audiovisual (AV) equipment, ensuring reliable, high-quality communication experiences for internal teams, remote participants, and external partners. This position involves the installation, configuration, operation, maintenance, and support of conferencing technologies, as well as serving as a subject-matter expert (SME) who provides technical assistance during meetings, events, and executive communications.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, test, and maintain VTC systems, conferencing platforms, and AV hardware.
  • Perform routine maintenance and software/firmware updates for VTC equipment.
  • Maintain and update equipment inventory, ensuring readiness and availability of required hardware and components.
  • Provide proactive support for daily video meetings, virtual events, webinars, and hybrid sessions to ensure optimal performance.
  • Prepare conference rooms for meetings, including equipment setup, environmental checks, and connectivity validation.
  • Act as a technical resource during high-profile, executive-level meetings and events, delivering real-time troubleshooting and operational support.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to audio, video, equipment, or network connectivity with speed and professionalism.
  • Monitor VTC system performance, network usage, and related technical configurations to identify and implement improvements.
  • Train end-users on the proper use of VTC systems, collaboration platforms, and conference room equipment.
  • Develop and maintain thorough documentation, including system configurations, operational procedures, service logs, and resolutions for recurring issues.
  • Coordinate with internal IT teams and external vendors to perform system upgrades, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Ensure all operations comply with applicable security and data privacy standards.
  • Conduct physical sweeps of conference spaces, ensuring functionality and readiness.
  • Perform cabling, endpoint installation, and hardware replacement tasks as required.
  • Provide on-site and occasional remote support.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Qualifications - Here's What You Need
  • Proven track record working with VTC systems such as Zoom Rooms, Microsoft Teams Rooms, Cisco, Poly, Logitech, and Crestron.
  • Comprehensive understanding of audio/video signal flow and AV operational fundamentals.
  • Hands-on experience with conference room equipment, including cameras, microphones, speakers, DSPs, control panels, and smartboards.
  • Working knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, bandwidth optimization, and Quality of Service (QoS) considerations for video conferencing.
  • Familiarity with room scheduling systems, digital signage platforms, and remote management tools for AV/VTC environments.
  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate in a clear, professional, and articulate manner.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high-level attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast past environment with changing priorities; adaptable to change and a quick learner.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work well independently as well as on a multi-functional team.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Industry certifications such as AVIXA CTS, Crestron, Cisco, or Poly.
  • Experience supporting high-profile or executive-level meetings and events.
  • Strong understanding of IT security measures as they apply to conferencing and communication technologies.

Reports to: Program Manager

Working Conditions
  • Professional office environment, with the ability to work onsite in the main office.
  • Must be available for after-hours or on-call support in high-priority events or maintenance situations.
  • Ability to lift, configure, and install hardware as required, including working in confined or tight spaces.
  • Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.
  • Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time looking at computer screen.
  • May be asked to work a flexible schedule which may include holidays.
  • May be asked to travel for business or professional development purposes.
  • May be asked to work hours outside of normal business hours.

Pay Range
