Job Type: Contract

Job Overview:

Pay Range: $18.00hr - $20.00hr

Requirement/Must Have:

  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor s degree.
  • One year of professional experience involving the analysis of statistical data, data computation, gathering statistical information for the preparation of labor market or workforce information reports, or related experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Experience with MS Office products.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs professional statistical analytic work in gathering, tabulating, and analyzing labor market, workforce, and occupational safety and health data.
  • Performs work in the Survey of Occupational Illnesses and Injuries (SOII) program and in the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW) program, following established U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) procedures and guidelines.
  • Codes, compiles, verifies, edits, and tabulates labor market data for the QCEW Program and assists in the production of a comprehensive tabulation of employment and wage information for workers covered by state Unemployment Insurance.
  • Conducts the SOII survey program, collecting, coding, analyzing, and verifying occupational illness and injury data.
  • Contacts employers via telephone to collect information.
  • Conducts the Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses, collecting, coding, and analyzing data to identify the types of accidents or injuries that have occurred in the workplace, as well as industries in which accidents and injuries occur.
  • Performs address refinement on sample units prior to survey solicitation, and consults with survey respondents to ensure compliance with federal deadlines.
  • Collects and tabulates data for the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages, including number of establishments, monthly employment, quarterly wages, industry classification, physical location, mailing address, and ownership sector.
  • Reviews, edits, and verifies information reported by employers for completeness and accuracy.
  • Identifies and resolves discrepancies.
  • Performs follow-up contact via phone, mail, email, and fax to obtain clarification or collect missing data.
  • Analyzes and documents predecessor/successor relationships to ensure that transfers are correctly recorded.
  • Assigns valid occupational and industry codes using the Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) system and the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS).
  • Assists in the preparation of reports and tables for publication and with data requests.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualification And Education:
