SAP Hana Solution Architect

Role name: SAP Technical Solution Architect - SDC
Work site: New Brunswick NJ (Hybrid ). local to NJ is preferred, but contractor must be willing to travel onsite if not already local

Key Responsibilities
1. Solution Architecture & Design
• Lead the overall SAP solution architecture across ECC/S4HANA and SAP Cloud solutions.
• Design end-to-end business processes across Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Procurement, Sales, HR, etc.
• Ensure solution alignment with enterprise architecture, security, and integration standards.
• Define and govern architecture principles, integration patterns, data flows, and technology roadmaps.
• Evaluate new SAP functionalities, BTP services, and industry templates to recommend best-fit solutions.
2. SAP Technical Leadership
• Guide functional and technical teams including SAP consultants, developers, and integration specialists.
• Provide deep expertise in at least one core area: SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, SAP Integration Suite, Fiori, Analytics, or industry modules.
• Oversee custom development design, extensions, and integration architecture.
• Define technical standards, coding guidelines, and reusability frameworks.
3. End-to-End Program Leadership
• Lead large SAP transformation programs (S/4HANA Greenfield/Brownfield, Rollouts, Migrations).
• Own the solution blueprint, design documentation, and architecture sign-offs.
• Work closely with business stakeholders, IT leadership, and delivery partners.
• Support project governance, risk management, and quality assurance activities.
4. Stakeholder Engagement
• Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders on SAP capabilities and roadmap.
• Translate business pain points and strategy into scalable SAP solutions.
• Conduct design workshops, solution walkthroughs, and architecture review sessions.
• Manage expectations of CXOs, product owners, and global process owners.
5. Integration & Data Architecture
• Define integration strategy with SAP and non-SAP systems using SAP BTP Integration Suite, APIs, events, and middleware.
• Oversee data migration strategy, data quality, data governance, and master data models.
• Ensure performance, scalability, and reliability of integrations and data flows.
6. Innovation & Continuous Improvement
• Evaluate emerging SAP technologies (RISE with SAP, BTP, AI/ML, Automation, Event Mesh, SAC).
• Drive innovation initiatives and recommend modernization opportunities.
• Benchmark architectural solutions against SAP best practices and industry trends.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
• 12–18+ years of SAP experience with at least 3–5 years as a Solution Architect.
• Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, and core business processes.
• Expertise in: SAP BTP (Integration Suite, Extension Suite), SAP Fiori/UI5, ABAP, SAP Analytics Cloud (optional), SAP MDG, SAP EWM, SAP TM (optional).
• Experience in multi-system landscapes, cloud-hosted deployments, and hybrid architectures.
• Strong understanding of integration patterns: APIs, events, IDocs, OData, RFC, CPI.
Leadership & Consulting Skills
• Ability to guide cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders.
• Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
• Experience working with global teams and distributed delivery models.
• Proven ability to manage complex architecture decisions in large programs.
