Lead AI Engineer New Build Track Lead

We are seeking an experienced Lead AI Engineer to lead the New Build (NB) Track for Verizon's Vertex AI platform. The ideal candidate will own the complete implementation, deployment, and production hardening of AI agents while serving as the primary technical lead throughout development, cutover, hypercare, and product enhancements.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the implementation of six AI agents including:
  • Orchestrator
  • Site Design Supervisor
  • ATOLL RF Design (Headless ATOLL through RFDA)
  • ATOLL Build Validation
  • FS Plot
  • RFDS New Build Pass-through
• Port and productionize the existing Verizon RFDS demo onto the Google Vertex AI platform.
• Design and implement automated learning workflows including:
  • Auto-classification
  • Auto-validation
  • Sampled human review
  • Governed write-back
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and maintain shared MCP server contracts.
• Provide technical leadership during production cutover and hypercare support.
• Drive architecture discussions for region-specific AI tuning and optimization.
• Lead product enhancements post-production rollout.

Required Skills:

• 7+ years of production software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience building production-grade LLM/Agentic AI applications.
• Strong experience with Google Vertex AI, including:
  • Vertex AI Agent Builder
  • Gemini Models
  • Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
  • Embeddings
  • Evaluation Frameworks
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers.
• Experience with LangGraph or equivalent agent orchestration frameworks.
• Expertise in:
  • Multi-Agent Architectures
  • State Machines
  • Retry & Timeout Strategies
  • Context Persistence
  • Compensating Transactions
• Strong Python development skills.
• Experience with Pytest, Type Checking, Unit Testing, and CI-integrated development.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience integrating headless or CLI-based simulation tools.
• Experience implementing LLM-as-Judge or adversarial validation frameworks.
• Multi-region Retrieval and Knowledge Base implementation.
• Telecom or RF domain experience.

Nice to Have:

• ATOLL or FUZE experience.
• Open-source contributions related to LangGraph, Vertex AI Agent Builder, or MCP Servers.
• Prior experience with Verizon RFDS Demo or related Verizon AI initiatives.
