As a Senior UX Designer on the Design Systems Team, you will define how the organization creates cohesive, accessible, and scalable experiences across digital touchpoints. You’ll collaborate with product, engineering, and design partners to advance a unified system of reusable components, design tokens, documentation, and governance workflows—ensuring parity between design and code.
Core Responsibilities
- Design System Strategy: Identify and prioritize system enhancements that improve component usability, accessibility, and scalability across platforms.
- Component & Pattern Creation: Design, document, and deliver robust Figma component libraries and patterns; define variants, tokens, auto?layout, responsive behavior, and accessibility standards aligned to coded implementations.
- Governance & Maintenance: Establish and maintain processes for versioning, contribution, and lifecycle management to keep the system healthy and efficient.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, product, and design teams to deliver new system capabilities that drive business outcomes and user experience quality.
- Documentation & Education: Create comprehensive usage guidelines and training materials; champion system adoption through education and support.
- AI Exploration: Evaluate and apply AI tools and workflows that improve system efficiency, documentation, accessibility, and design?to?code alignment.
- Continuous Improvement: Track industry trends and tools; proactively refine processes to boost quality, scalability, and team productivity.
Required
- 4+ years focused on designing, building, and maintaining large-scale design systems—ideally at senior/lead level within a systems team.
- Expert in Figma, including: component libraries, design tokens, variants, auto?layout, versioning, and plugins; proven ability to deliver high-quality, reusable components and patterns.
- Demonstrated experience creating systems for web, iOS, and Android, with strong responsive design and platform-specific UI knowledge.
- Strong grasp of WCAG and inclusive design; ability to embed accessibility standards in components, tokens, and documentation.
- Portfolio that showcases system-level thinking, component creation, documentation at scale, and parity between design and code.
- Cross-functional collaboration experience in agile product environments; clear communication and storytelling grounded in logic and data.
- Experience applying AI tools/workflows to improve design system processes (e.g., component creation, documentation, accessibility audits, or design?to?code).
- Familiarity with governance models, contribution workflows, and lifecycle management for complex systems at enterprise scale.
- Strength in information architecture, interaction design, and visual design within system constraints.
- Background enabling multi-platform parity and collaborating closely with developers to ensure consistency across frameworks and design kits.
