ITSAC Description:
The cloud architect is responsible for the cloud computing initiatives within an organization and for directing the architectural aspects of a cloud brokering team across all aspects of IT and the business. Responsible for the planning and engineering of an organization''''s cloud computing infrastructure and applications. Implements and designs hardware and software. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of cloud technology, including Software as Service (SaaS), Platform as Service (PaaS), or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
• Improving TxDOT’s secure adoption of cloud architecture and technologies
• Identifying and documenting security/technical deficiencies for organizational prioritization
• Implementing process improvements and checklists for architectural review and approval
• Supporting the Architecture Review Board (ARB) on project specific research and action items
• Contributing to standards, patterns, and building blocks for architectural reuse
• Fulfilling the solution architect role on ITD projects as needed
Minimum Qualifications
4 Experience designing and implementing Azure cloud computing architecture, cloud deployment models, and workloads.
4 Experience designing and implementing Azure cloud security architecture and employing relevant tools.
4 Experience designing and implementing Azure networking concepts and security best practices to optimize the protection of cloud infrastructure and data.
4 Understanding of business requirements and ability to align Azure cloud solutions with business objectives.
4 Experience defining Azure cloud computing vision, strategy, standards, or reference architecture.
4 Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in simple terms to stakeholders and work effectively in a team.
Preferred Qualifications
2 Experience implementing projects with Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) Data Center Services (DCS).
2 Ability to write scripts in a programming language such as Python, Terraform, or JavaScript to automate cloud deployment and management tasks.
2 Experience implementing DevSecOps for Azure.
N/A Bachelor''''s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or relevant field.
N/A At least 1 active cloud certification. Azure Solution Architect Expert is preferred.
