Role Overview
Our organization is seeking an executive leader to fill the role of Head of Global Networks. This is a highly visible, enterprise-scale leadership position with global scope, responsible for defining and executing the strategy for our worldwide network infrastructure. The successful candidate will lead the transformation of a traditional hardware-centric network environment into a modern, cloud-native, software-defined platform, ensuring the availability, resilience, and security of mission-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide executive ownership of the global network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, WiFi, application routing, and security platforms.
- Define and execute the global network strategy, driving the transformation from legacy, data center-centric infrastructure to a cloud-native, software-defined networking model.
- Lead a global organization of approximately 40 engineering and network professionals with about 5 direct reports.
- Drive the adoption of modern engineering practices such as Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD-driven networking, automated deployment, and traffic engineering.
- Manage large-scale vendor relationships and platform strategies across connectivity, routing, and security.
- Partner with enterprise technology leaders to align network strategy with business priorities and influence organizational design.
- Ensure the continuous availability, resilience, and performance of the network across multi-cloud and on-premises environments.
Required Qualifications
Experience:- Approximately 15-20+ years of total experience, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience leading large-scale enterprise network environments (10,000+ employees preferred), including the management of large teams (40+) and multi-million dollar budgets.
- Demonstrated career progression from a hands-on engineering role to an executive leadership position.
- Deep, non-negotiable domain expertise in network engineering and operations.
- Experience managing and stabilizing complex legacy network environments while simultaneously driving modernization.
Technical Skills:- Strong experience with cloud networking (multi-cloud, AWS preferred), hybrid infrastructure, and large-scale distributed systems.
- Fluency in cloud-native architectures, automation, platform engineering practices, and resilience engineering principles.
- Experience implementing modern networking paradigms such as software-defined networking and infrastructure-as-code.
- Familiarity with platforms such as Cisco, Juniper, Zscaler, Aruba, Palo Alto, Bluecat, Akamai, and F5.
Preferred Qualifications
- Networking certifications such as CCNA/CCNP are preferred.
- Experience in cloud-native or modern technology companies.
