Role : JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (JDE E1) Functional Lead

We are seeking an experienced JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (JDE E1) Functional Lead – Operations to lead the Operations workstream across various JDE E1 implementation, enhancement, and production support initiatives.
The role will be responsible for supporting end-to-end functional activities including data conversions, system configuration, functional specifications, testing, production support, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
The ideal candidate will bring 12–15 years of strong JD Edwards functional experience across Operations, Sales & Distribution, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Planning, Quality, Inventory Management, Intercompany processes, Customer Sales, PLM, Costing and Accounting. The candidate should also possess sufficient technical understanding to work effectively with development teams, execute SQL queries, troubleshoot system issues, and support complex integrations.
Key Responsibilities
1. JDE E1 Functional Leadership
- Lead the Operations functional workstream across JDE E1 projects and production support activities.
- Serve as a functional SME for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne across business operations and supply chain processes.
- Work closely with Business Analysts, business super users, development teams, support teams, and other functional leads.
- Translate business requirements into scalable JDE E1 functional solutions.
- Ensure solutions align with existing business processes, system architecture, and operational requirements.
2. Functional Configuration & Solution Design
- Perform hands-on JDE E1 system configuration based on business and functional requirements.
- Analyze existing configurations and recommend appropriate changes or enhancements.
- Prepare detailed functional specifications for system enhancements, customizations, interfaces, and reports.
- Work closely with development teams to clarify functional requirements and support technical development.
- Create system/process flow diagrams illustrating end-to-end business and system interactions.
- Support functional design reviews and solution validation.
3. Operations & Supply Chain Functional Support
Provide functional expertise across JDE E1 processes including:
- Sales & Distribution
- Manufacturing
- Supply Chain Planning
- Inventory Management
- Quality Management
- Distribution
- Intercompany Processes
- Customer Sales / Order Management
- Day-End Processing
- Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
- Costing & Accounting
- EDI – preferred/plus
Support end-to-end business processes spanning order creation, planning, manufacturing, inventory, distribution, costing, financial impact, and related operational transactions.
4. Data Conversion & Migration
- Support data conversion and migration activities for JDE E1 projects.
- Assist with data mapping, validation, reconciliation, and conversion testing.
- Work with business and technical teams to identify and resolve data-related issues.
- Validate converted data against functional and business requirements.
5. Testing & Quality Assurance
- Develop and execute functional and end-to-end test scenarios.
- Support:
- Functional testing
- System Integration Testing (SIT)
- End-to-End Testing
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Regression testing
- Unit testing support
- Coordinate testing activities with Business Analysts and business super users.
- Work with development teams during unit testing and defect resolution.
- Analyze defects and determine whether issues originate from configuration, customization, data, integration, or business processes.
6. Production Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide functional support for JDE E1 production environments.
- Troubleshoot complex system and business-process issues.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring production problems.
- Debug functional issues across applications, configurations, integrations, and data.
- Support incident resolution and ensure business-critical issues are addressed within agreed timelines.
- Identify opportunities for permanent fixes and process improvements.
7. SQL & Technical Coordination
- Write and execute SQL queries for data analysis, troubleshooting, reconciliation, and issue investigation.
- Work closely with JDE developers and technical teams on customizations and enhancements.
- Understand relationships between JDE applications, business functions, data structures, interfaces, and underlying tables.
- Support technical teams by providing clear functional and technical specifications.
Required Skills & Competencies
- 12–15 years of hands-on JD Edwards EnterpriseOne functional experience.
- 10+ years of strong JDE E1 functional expertise in Operations, Sales & Distribution, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Planning, Inventory Management and Distribution.
- 7+ years of strong understanding of Quality, Intercompany processes, Customer Sales, Day-End processing, PLM, Costing and Accounting.
- 7+ years of Hands-on experience with JDE E1 system configuration.
- 5+ years of strong experience supporting JDE implementations, enhancements and production support.
- 5+ years of experience with data conversion and migration.
- Ability to prepare high-quality functional and technical specifications.
- Ability to create system and process flow diagrams.
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities.
- Experience with end-to-end functional and integration testing.
- Ability to write and execute SQL queries.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end business processes and their integration across JDE modules.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with Business Analysts, super users, developers, technical teams, and support teams.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with EDI integrations.
- Experience supporting complex/global JDE E1 environments.
- Experience working across both project implementation and production support environments.
- Strong understanding of integration between Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Finance within JDE E1.
