Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our engineering team in Sunnyvale, CA. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Java-based test automation, backend/API testing, and testing large-scale web or e-commerce applications. This role requires close collaboration with development, DevOps, and product teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks using Java.
Perform functional, integration, and regression testing for large-scale web and e-commerce applications.
Test backend services, REST APIs, and web services.
Perform database testing and validate data integrity.
Work within Agile/Scrum teams to plan, execute, and track testing activities.
Integrate testing processes within CI/CD pipelines.
Conduct performance testing and static code analysis where applicable.
Support production/live services by identifying issues and driving bug resolution.
Define and maintain bug tracking and defect management processes.
Collaborate across teams to improve quality, reliability, and release efficiency.
Required Qualifications:
6+ years of experience in software testing for web and/or e-commerce applications.
Strong programming skills in Java and automation testing frameworks.
Experience with REST API testing and backend service testing.
Hands-on experience with database testing (SQL).
Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Knowledge of networked applications, performance testing, and code quality tools.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent collaboration and communication abilities.
Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with automation tools such as Selenium, TestNG, or similar frameworks.
Experience with Jenkins, Git, or other CI/CD tools.
Experience testing microservices architecture.
