Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced WebSphere Administrator to manage, configure, and support IBM WebSphere Application Server environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installation, deployment, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance of WebSphere environments in production and non-production systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS).
- Deploy and manage enterprise Java applications (EAR, WAR, JAR files).
- Perform environment setup including clustering, node management, and load balancing.
- Monitor system performance and implement tuning improvements.
- Troubleshoot application server issues, analyze logs, and resolve production incidents.
- Configure security settings including SSL, user roles, and authentication.
- Perform patching, upgrades, and version migrations.
- Support high availability and disaster recovery configurations.
- Coordinate with development, infrastructure, and DevOps teams for deployments.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and runbooks.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a WebSphere Administrator.
- Strong experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server (ND preferred).
- Experience with WebSphere clustering and deployment manager configurations.
- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix environments.
- Experience with application deployments and JVM tuning.
- Familiarity with Apache, IHS (IBM HTTP Server), or other web servers.
- Experience in troubleshooting performance and memory issues.
- Knowledge of SSL configuration and security management.
- Basic scripting knowledge (Shell, Jython).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with WebSphere Liberty.
- Knowledge of DevOps tools (Jenkins, Git, Ansible).
- Experience with cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
- Experience working in remote/contract environments.
