We are seeking a skilled and motivated Automation Engineer to join our dedicated engineering team. In this crucial role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality operation of our automated manufacturing systems. You will work collaboratively with operations and maintenance to minimize downtime, enhance process reliability, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This position offers the opportunity to develop and implement innovative solutions, directly contributing to the success of our production processes in casting, finishing, and machining.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair automated manufacturing equipment, including PLC-controlled machinery, robotics, and CNC automation.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic system issues.
  • Support and maintain PLCs, HMIs, sensors, VFDs, servos, and industrial networks.
  • Assist with programming changes, backups, and documentation for automation systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to optimize equipment performance and reduce downtime.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve cycle times, uptime, and process capability.

Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or technical certification in Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in industrial automation.
  • Working knowledge of PLCs (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
  • Experience with industrial electrical systems (480V, control circuits, sensors).
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
