Position Summary
Suffolk Transportation is seeking an IT Specialist responsible for cybersecurity, network and
fiber infrastructure, and hands-on end-user support across office and operational environments.
Key Responsibilities
Cybersecurity & Systems Protection
Monitor and maintain endpoint protection, firewalls, MFA, and email security.
Respond to security incidents, alerts, and potential threats.
Manage patching, vulnerability remediation, and access controls.
Network & Fiber Infrastructure
Support fiber, structured cabling, switches, routers, and firewalls.
Troubleshoot network outages and performance issues.
Coordinate with ISPs and vendors for installs and repairs.
End-User Support
Provide desktop, laptop, printer, and application support.
Support Windows OS, Microsoft 365, email, and VoIP phones.
Onboard and offboard users, including training and access provisioning.
Required Qualifications:
3+ years of IT support experience.
Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and networking fundamentals.
Experience in fiber or structured cabling environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
Cybersecurity experience and CompTIA certifications (A+, Network+, Security+).
Experience with firewalls, VPNs, and PowerShell scripting.
