Job Requirements: 
  • Job Summary:
    • We are seeking a skilled Senior Systems Administrator to support the migration and modernization of End-of-Life (EOL) systems across Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments. 
    • The role focuses on upgrading legacy systems to supported platforms, ensuring improved security, performance, and operational stability.
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Assess and prioritize legacy systems for migration based on risk and business impact.
    • Plan and execute OS upgrades. (Windows Server 2008/2012 → 2016/2019/2022, RHEL 5/6/7 → 8/9)
    • Perform system rebuilds (preferred) and controlled migrations with minimal downtime.
    • Implement backup, recovery, and validation processes during migrations.
    • Apply system hardening and security compliance. (STIG, CIS benchmarks)
    • Automate configuration and deployment using Ansible and PowerShell.
    • Troubleshoot migration-related issues and provide post-migration support.
    • Maintain documentation, CMDB updates, and migration reports.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Required Skills & Experience:
    • 8+ years of experience in Windows Server and RHEL administration.
    • Strong experience with OS migrations and legacy system upgrades.
    • Proficiency in scripting/automation. (Bash, PowerShell, Ansible)
    • Experience with vulnerability management and patching tools. (e.g., Nessus, OpenSCAP)
    • Knowledge of system hardening standards. (STIG, CIS)
    • Experience working in virtualized environments. (VMware preferred)
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience in large-scale infrastructure or data center migrations.
    • Familiarity with compliance-driven environments.
    • Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills.
  • Key Deliverables:
    • Weekly migration execution. (minimum 1 system per week per FTE)
    • Migration plans, reports, and system documentation.
    • Hardened, compliant, and fully supported systems post-migration.
