Role Overview

CVS Health is seeking a Decision Scientist / Senior Decision Scientist to join its Call Intelligence team. This team builds and maintains advanced analytical and machine learning models to extract actionable insights from customer service call transcripts. The goal is to better understand customer needs, optimize interactions, and map customers to relevant CVS products and services.

This role is highly hands-on and focuses on data analysis, experimentation, model evaluation, and impact measurement. The team works closely with internal subject matter experts, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure insights are accurate and drive measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze large-scale call transcript and customer interaction data to identify trends and opportunities.
• Build, evaluate, and improve models such as:
• Recommendation engines
• Customer segmentation models
• Text summarization and insight extraction models
• Design and execute impact analyses, including:
• A/B testing
• Power analysis
• Experiment measurement frameworks
• Create reliable, well-documented datasets that serve as a single source of truth for evaluation and reporting.
• Identify and track lead and lag indicators tied to long-term customer experience and business outcomes.
• Partner with cross-functional teams (product, analytics, SMEs) to validate model outputs and ensure adoption.
• Present findings, insights, and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders using visualizations and storytelling.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in decision science, data science, analytics, or a related role.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis and manipulation.
• Hands-on experience with:
• Impact analysis
• A/B testing
• Power analysis and experiment design
• Strong data exploration skills with the ability to create high-quality analytical datasets.
• Ability to translate complex analytical findings into clear business insights.
• Excellent communication and data visualization skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience working with text data, call transcripts, or NLP-based use cases.
• Experience in healthcare, retail, or customer experience analytics.
• Familiarity with recommendation systems or customer segmentation models.
