Job Description
CGI is seeking an experienced Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Java development, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, and cloud technologies, with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Required Skills
- 5 8 years of hands-on experience in Java development.
- Strong proficiency in Java 8/11/17.
- Experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Data JPA.
- Hands-on experience developing RESTful APIs and Microservices.
- Strong knowledge of Hibernate/JPA.
- Experience with SQL databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases (MongoDB is a plus).
- Experience with Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Hands-on experience with Git, Maven, and Jenkins.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of design patterns, object-oriented programming, and clean coding practices.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with OpenShift.
- Knowledge of SonarQube and code quality tools.
- Experience with JUnit and Mockito.
- Exposure to DevOps practices.
- Financial or Insurance domain experience is an added advantage.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications.
- Build scalable REST APIs and microservices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software.
- Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
- Troubleshoot production issues and optimize application performance.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Prepare technical documentation and support deployment activities.
Education
