Mainframe System/Automation Engineer - Fully Remote


Experience: 5+ Years

We are seeking a Mainframe Systme/Automation Engineer with strong experience in IBM Z automation, z/OS operations, and migration projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise with NetView for z/OS, System Automation for z/OS, REXX, JCL, TSO/ISPF, and Policy Database (PDB).

<>Key Responsibilities
  • Support and implement System Automation for z/OS and NetView for z/OS solutions.
  • Participate in z/OS Automation Migration and modernization projects.
  • Develop and maintain automation policies using System Automation Policy Database (PDB).
  • Create and maintain REXX scripts and JCL.
  • Support z/OS operations, startup/shutdown procedures, monitoring, and automation initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot automation, system operations, and configuration issues.
  • Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to improve automation and system reliability.
<>Required Skills
  • 5+ years in Mainframe Operations, Support, or Automation.
  • Strong knowledge of z/OS, TSO, ISPF, JCL, and REXX.
  • Experience with IBM NetView for z/OS.
  • Experience with IBM System Automation for z/OS.
  • Knowledge of System Automation Policy Database (PDB).
  • Experience in z/OS Automation Migration Projects.
  • Strong communication and consulting skills.

  • SMP/E
  • z/OS startup and shutdown procedures
  • IBM Z system configuration and automation
  • Experience with fully automated IBM Z environments
