Job Description:
Senior IT PM - Revenue Accounting Project

Location: Bellevue, Washington or Bothell, WA (Hybrid)

Duration: 6 month contract - very likely to extend

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to lead a multi-year initiative focused on improving and modernizing the unbilled revenue recognition process. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating the existing state, defining project scope, identifying solution options, and creating a roadmap for implementation. This role requires close collaboration with IT, Finance, Accounting, and SAP stakeholders to drive a complex process improvement program from strategy through execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the entire project lifecycle from definition through implementation, ensuring alignment with scope, cost, and schedule.
  • Evaluate current processes, define project scope, and create a delivery roadmap and implementation plan.
  • Lead cross-functional teams involving IT, Finance, Accounting, and other business stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication plans with the project team and key stakeholders.
  • Provide day-to-day direction to project resources and ensure effective change management occurs.
  • Prepare project documentation, status reports, and budget updates for leadership.
  • Facilitate discussions between Finance, Accounting, Operations, and IT teams to resolve challenges.
  • Translate business requirements into effective technology solutions.
Required Qualifications

Project Management: Senior-level IT Project Management experience leading large enterprise initiatives, with a strong understanding of SDLC and project governance.

Financial Systems & Business Knowledge: Experience supporting month-end close processes and an understanding of revenue recognition or unbilled revenue. Ability to communicate effectively with Finance and Accounting teams.

Technical Skills: Working knowledge of SAP and experience managing SAP-related projects or initiatives. Specialized knowledge of MS Project, Visio, Excel, and Word.

Stakeholder Management: Executive-level communication skills and the ability to manage relationships across business and IT teams.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Utility industry experience.
  • Direct experience with revenue accounting, revenue recognition, or unbilled revenue processes.
  • Exposure to SAP Finance (FI/CO).
  • Experience with SAP reporting and analytics implementation.
  • Background in accounting, financial systems projects, or process transformation initiatives.
