Job Details

The Project Accountant will play a critical role in managing project financials from inception through closeout. This individual will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and accounting leadership to ensure accurate job costing, billing, compliance documentation, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
Manage full-cycle project accounting for multiple construction projects
Maintain and monitor job costing and project budgets
Process and track AIA billings
Handle project closeouts, including final reconciliations and documentation
Manage lien waivers, subcontractor compliance, and related documentation
Track project contracts, change orders, and commitments
Assist with accounts payable and subcontractor/vendor payments
Prepare monthly financial reports and support forecasting activities
Reconcile project costs and assist with month-end close procedures
Partner with operations teams to ensure financial accuracy across projects

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
Approximately 5+ years of project accounting experience within construction
Strong understanding of:
Job costing
AIA billing processes
Project closeouts
Lien waivers
Construction contract administration
Experience in affordable housing or multifamily construction is a plus
Proficiency with construction accounting software (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, Yardi, CMiC, or similar)
Strong Excel and analytical skills
Detail-oriented with excellent communication and organizational abilities
