Job Title: DevOps Platform Architect
Location: Atlanta, GA (Onsite)
Duration: 12+ Months
Job Description:
Role Overview
· We are seeking a hands-on, execution-focused DevOps Platform Architect who can translate high-level strategy into structured, actionable engineering roadmaps and measurable delivery outcomes.
· This role serves as the critical bridge between architecture and execution, partnering with senior stakeholders while owning delivery clarity, technical depth, and team alignment across distributed engineering teams.
· The ideal candidate is a strong practitioner who can challenge abstract ideas, drive clarity, and convert them into implementable plans with defined ownership, timelines, and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Execution Ownership & Roadmap Realization
· Translate conceptual DevOps strategies into detailed L2/L3 execution roadmaps
· Define workstreams, epics, backlog structures, priorities, and sprint timelines
· Ensure roadmap stability and continuity — eliminate directional drift and rework cycles
· Own end-to-end execution clarity and delivery outcomes for DevOps initiatives
2. Engineering Translation & Technical Leadership
Convert high-level architectural inputs into practical engineering solutions, including:
· CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
· Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep/ARM, CloudFormation)
· Platform Engineering & Automation (IDPs, reusable pipelines, golden paths)
· Observability & Monitoring (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor)
· DevSecOps (SAST, DAST, container security, policy-as-code)
Drive engineering-first decision making, balancing best practices with delivery constraints
3. Team Leadership & Execution Governance (Distributed Teams)
· Lead and align offshore DevOps engineering teams toward structured delivery
· Break down roadmap into sprint-level execution plans with clear ownership
· Establish execution rigor through sprint ceremonies, tracking, and accountability
· Act as the single point of ownership for DevOps delivery execution
4. Stakeholder Management & Cross-Functional Alignment
Collaborate with senior stakeholders, architects, and product teams
Challenge ambiguous or impractical inputs and drive clarity before execution
Ensure alignment across:
· Business priorities
· Technical feasibility
· Delivery timelines
Provide clear, structured updates on progress, risks, and dependencies
5. Process Maturity & Operating Model Excellence
Establish and enforce:
· Agile delivery discipline (Sprint Planning, Backlog Grooming, Reviews)
· Capacity planning and velocity tracking
· Standardized DevOps operating models and workflows
Build scalable and repeatable DevOps processes, not just tooling implementations
Required Qualifications
Technical Expertise
· Strong experience with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure cloud platforms
· CI/CD: Azure DevOps Pipelines, GitHub Actions, Jenkins
· Infrastructure as Code: Terraform (mandatory), Bicep/ARM or CloudFormation
· Containers & Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes (AKS/EKS)
· Observability: Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor
· DevSecOps: Integration of SAST, DAST, container security, secrets management
· Experience with platform engineering concepts (Internal Developer Platforms, automation frameworks) is highly preferred
Leadership & Execution Capability
Proven experience in:
· Translating strategy into execution-ready plans
· Leading distributed/offshore engineering teams
· Driving delivery in ambiguous, fast-paced environments
Ability to:
· Challenge assumptions and propose practical alternatives
· Bring structure, clarity, and accountability in complex environments
Experience Requirements
· 10–15 years of experience in DevOps / Cloud Engineering
· 4–6+ years in Architect / Lead roles with delivery ownership
· Experience in large-scale, multi-team enterprise environments
