IO Datasphere, Inc. has been providing project management, software development and IT staff augmentation services to our clients in the Midwest and throughout the U.S. since 1996. We are an approved vendor on contract to provide software development and IT staff augmentation services for the States of Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. We also provide these services to businesses, as well as local and county governments, in the Midwest and nationwide.

Our client is looking for a Sr. Software Engineer with deep expertise in functional testing, automation, API validation, performance testing, and enterprise system integrations. This role requires strong technical skills, leadership capabilities, and experience working in Agile environments to ensure quality across complex enterprise applications

Tasks

• Lead QA strategy and best practices for enterprise applications (Payments, CRM).
• Mentor junior QA engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Design and implement automation frameworks using Playwright (Python) and Pytest.
• Automate REST API testing using REST Assured.
• Execute performance and load tests using Locust, JMeter, or LoadRunner.
• Validate data integrity across systems using SQL (joins, multi-table queries, CTE).
• Maintain and enhance legacy test scripts in UFT/VBScript.
• Integrate automated tests into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, and product owners in Agile teams.
• Perform security and compliance testing (PCI DSS, GDPR, HIPPA) for enterprise systems.
• Ensure accessibility and usability compliance for applications.
• Conduct Manual and automated accessibility evaluations.
• Manage test cases and reporting using Azure Test Plans or similar tools.
• Create and maintain test documentation (BRD, FRD, SRS, RTM).
• Oversee test environment setup and test data management

NOTE: Local candidates within 70 miles of Lansing (strongly preferred) or non-local (must be willing to relocate within 70 miles of Lansing at their own expense from acceptance with no delays & follow the hybrid schedule). Resource will be working a hybrid schedule. NO REMOTE ONLY OPTION. Will need to be onsite from day 1, two days a week (Tuesdays and Wednesdays are required onsite days). Onsite interview required.

Skills Required:

• 8+ years - Experience in software quality assurance and automated testing.
• Experience leading QA activities, mentoring junior testers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated ability to work in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Experience working in Azure DevOps Repos, Boards, Pipelines, and Test Plans.
• Ability to manage complex test cycles and meet deadlines.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills, especially around defects and test coverage
• Ability to integrate automated tests into build and release pipelines.
• Strong experience with Playwright (Python) and Pytest.
• Experience with API automation using REST Assured.
• Proficiency in SQL for data validation.
• Hands-on experience with Dynamics 365 functional testing
• Experience with performance testing tools: Locust, JMeter, or LoadRunner.
• Familiarity with Git, Allure, and Azure DevOps pipelines.
• Experience with test data management and environment configuration.
• Knowledge of security standards (PCI, GDPR) and accessibility guidelines.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.1/2.2 guidelines
• Knowledge of assistive technologies (i.e. JAWS, NVDA)
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field

Skills Desired A plus to have:

• Experience with Finance, public pension or retirement systems
• Knowledge of C#/.NET/Java.
• Exposure to Docker/Kubernetes and containerized environments.
• Experience with Azure Test Plans or similar test management tools
• Familiarity with SAFe or other scaled Agile frameworks.
• Knowledge of assistive technologies (i.e. JAWS, NVDA)
• Certifications: Dynamics 365, Python, SQL, Agile
