We are seeking an Engineering Technician to support engineering activities associated with space and defense-related programs. The successful candidate will work closely with engineers and technical staff to assist with equipment testing, troubleshooting, fabrication, documentation, and technical analysis. This position requires a detail-oriented professional who enjoys solving problems, working with hardware, and contributing to mission-critical projects.
This position is based onsite in Monument Peak, California.
ResponsibilitiesEngineering & Technical Support- Support engineers in the development, testing, modification, and evaluation of mechanical and electromechanical systems.
- Assist with setup, operation, and maintenance of test equipment and laboratory hardware.
- Perform equipment inspections, troubleshooting, and functional testing to ensure compliance with technical requirements.
- Collect, record, and analyze test data and prepare technical reports documenting results and recommendations.
- Assist in developing prototypes, fixtures, assemblies, and other hardware required to support engineering projects.
- Prepare sketches, layouts, drawings, and technical documentation to support manufacturing and assembly activities.
- Review technical instructions, drawings, schematics, and specifications to support testing and implementation activities.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to identify and resolve technical issues affecting performance, reliability, or manufacturability.
- Support quality assurance, configuration management, and process improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
Requirements- Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology, or related technical field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 3-8 years of relevant engineering technician experience preferred.
- Experience supporting engineering test activities, hardware integration, troubleshooting, or laboratory operations.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and document technical data.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any required customer security clearances.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience supporting Department of Defense, Space Force, Air Force, NASA, or government contractor programs.
- Familiarity with manufacturing, assembly, integration, and testing environments.
- Experience with configuration management and quality control processes.
- Technical drafting or CAD experience.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or aerospace systems.
