SUMMARY: WR has an opportunity for a
GIS Software Engineer, Associate to support the design and development of geospatial/geographic information systems (GIS) using advanced programming languages.
Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Supports the design and development of geospatial-based software with an emphasis on:
- Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs)
- Backend logic and databases
- Supports software development, integration, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
- Collaborates with engineering team members to develop and enhance GIS software applications.
Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:- Bachelor of Science degree, conferred or currently in the final year of a program, in Computer/Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related scientific discipline.
- Zero to three (0-3) years of relevant software development experience.
- Strong understanding of programming concepts, including:
- Object-oriented programming
- Design patterns
- Multi-threading
- Inter-process communication
- Buffering
- Persistence
- Experience or academic exposure to C++ and/or C# programming.
- Experience or familiarity with ASP.NET, Blazor, .NET Core, and/or Mono is beneficial.
The selected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment third-party background check which may include verification of any of the following: Employment history; Education and/or certifications; Criminal history; Driving Records; Other records or information related to the candidate's suitability for the position.Position Salary Range: $63,000 - $91,000. The listed salary range represents the typical range for this position. WR bases the offered salary on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual candidate qualifications, such as education, experience, knowledge, and skills, scope and responsibilities of the position, and market and business considerations.
