The Electro Optical Infrared Systems (EOIS) line of business within DRS has locations in Dallas and Austin, TX, Melbourne, FL, and Cypress, CA. Job Summary

Collaborate with and learn from experienced Electrical Engineers in our Electro-Optical & Infrared Systems line of business. Our Summer Internship Program offers a full-time, paid opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working in a culture defined by friendliness and teamwork at DRS. What sets us apart? Job Responsibilities

  • Mixed-signal integrated circuit layout
  • Laboratory functional test of new Readout ICs
  • Laboratory characterization of Readout ICs and Focal Plane Arrays (FPAs)
  • Transistor-level analog circuit design
  • Circuit-level and mixed-mode simulation and verification
  • Data analysis and report generation
  • Documentation of design, verification, and testing
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Support engineering with routine engineering duties and/or hands-on tasks
  • Work independently on daily tasks
  • Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission values and culture of the organization

Qualifications

  • Must be actively enrolled in a 4-year undergraduate or Master's Program in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • Have completed at least 2 years of college with a 3.0 GPA or better.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to solve complex problems using your natural curiosity.
  • Work effectively as a member of a team or on individual tasks.
  • The ideal candidate will possess 2 or more of these desired skills:
    • Experienced with Virtuoso and Calibre
    • Experienced performing integrated circuit physical design (layout)
    • Working experience in using spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and other lab equipment, to validate analog designs
    • Familiar with digital IC design using Verilog
    • Ability to analyze data in Mathcad, MATLAB, or similar tools
    • Ability to solve complex design problems

U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
