About the Role
\\n
We are seeking an experienced Senior Fidessa Developer to join an Equities Cash Technology organization supporting institutional and retail equities trading businesses.
\\n
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on the development, enhancement, integration, upgrade, and production support of multiple trading applications built on the Fidessa trading platform.
\\n
The successful candidate must have strong hands-on experience with Fidessa server-side development, deep knowledge of Fidessa architecture and OMS components, and experience delivering product upgrades involving complex client-specific customizations.
\\n
The role requires close partnership with Trading, Business Analysts, Product Managers, Production Support, Infrastructure, and other Engineering teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and compliant electronic trading solutions.
\\n
The strongest candidates will bring deep experience across CASE, FBL, TOP, OMAR, TMAR, PMAC, FIX connectivity, Fidessa upgrades, and Cash Equities trading workflows.

Key Responsibilities
\\n

\\n
• Design, develop, enhance, and support server-side applications built on the Fidessa trading platform.
\\n
• Develop and maintain Fidessa solutions using CASE, FBL, and TOP.
\\n
• Work extensively with Fidessa OMS components including OMAR, TMAR, and PMAC.
\\n
• Support multiple production Fidessa trading systems used by institutional and retail Equities businesses.
\\n
• Integrate Fidessa applications with exchanges, brokers, internal trading systems, market-data platforms, risk systems, and downstream post-trade applications.
\\n
• Develop and support FIX connectivity, including order routing, execution reporting, message validation, troubleshooting, and external counterparty connectivity.
\\n
• Perform Fidessa product upgrades and manage the impact of upgrades on existing client-specific customizations.
\\n
• Analyze existing Fidessa customizations and determine remediation or redevelopment requirements during product upgrades.
\\n
• Support Cash Equities trading workflows including order capture, validation, routing, execution, allocations, and post-trade processing.
\\n
• Troubleshoot complex production issues across Fidessa applications, databases, messaging layers, integrations, and infrastructure.
\\n
• Develop and maintain interfaces using Fidessa products including PAIRS, NMS, FIX+, APAS, and FDA.
\\n
• Partner with Business Analysts, Product Managers, Trading teams, and technology stakeholders to translate business and regulatory requirements into technical solutions.
\\n
• Support regulatory and business-driven changes affecting equities trading workflows.
\\n
• Develop utilities, automation, and integration components using TCL, Python, Unix Shell, and/or PowerShell.
\\n
• Work with relational databases including Sybase and Microsoft SQL Server for application support, troubleshooting, and data analysis.
\\n
• Support distributed and event-driven application architectures using messaging platforms such as AMPS, IBM MQ, and Tibco EMS.
\\n
• Participate in application design, code reviews, testing, deployment, and production-readiness activities.
\\n
• Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks supporting Fidessa releases and upgrades.
\\n
• Onboard Fidessa applications and deployment processes into modern DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
\\n
• Partner with infrastructure and platform teams to improve application resiliency, monitoring, deployment automation, and operational supportability.
\\n
• Use modern AI-assisted development tools where appropriate to support coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and technical analysis.
\\n

Required Qualifications
\\n

\\n
• 7+ years of Core Java development experience.
\\n
• 3+ years of hands-on Fidessa server-side development experience.
\\n
• Strong hands-on experience with Fidessa CASE, FBL, and TOP.
\\n
• Strong knowledge of Fidessa OMS architecture, including OMAR, TMAR, and PMAC.
\\n
• Demonstrated experience supporting or developing production Fidessa trading platforms.
\\n
• Hands-on experience with FIX protocol, including order flows, executions, session management, connectivity, and troubleshooting.
\\n
• Proven experience performing Fidessa product upgrades involving client-specific or onsite customizations.
\\n
• Strong understanding of Cash Equities / Global Markets trading workflows.
\\n
• Experience with Order Management Systems and post-trade processing.
\\n
• Experience with Fidessa products such as PAIRS, NMS, FIX+, APAS, and FDA.
\\n
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architectures, messaging, and application integration.
\\n
• Experience with Windows and Linux environments.
\\n
• Scripting experience using TCL, Python, Unix Shell, or PowerShell.
\\n
• Experience with Sybase and/or Microsoft SQL Server.
\\n
• Experience with messaging technologies such as AMPS, IBM MQ, or Tibco EMS.
\\n
• Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
\\n
• Experience with automated testing, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
\\n
• Strong troubleshooting and production-support skills.
\\n
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with Trading, Product, Business, and Technology stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Fidessa FDA.
\\n
• Hands-on FTW development or implementation experience.
\\n
• Significant Sybase experience.
\\n
• Experience modernizing or integrating legacy Fidessa platforms with modern enterprise technology stacks.

• Experience supporting high-volume institutional Cash Equities trading platforms.
\\n
• Experience working directly with Equity Traders, Sales Traders, Electronic Trading teams, or Global Markets stakeholders.
\\n
• Experience with production monitoring, observability, and application-performance tooling.
\\n
• Familiarity with AI-assisted software development tools.
\\n

Compensation:

**The base salary range for this role is $150,000 - $185,000**
