Lead Engineer / Technical Lead – Operational Risk & GRC Platforms

The Lead Engineer will own the end‑to‑end technical delivery of a custom-built Operational Risk / GRC platform for a large financial institution. This role combines strong hands‑on engineering leadership with deep Operational Risk / GRC domain understanding, guiding multiple workstreams across UI, workflow, and data.
Key Responsibilities
· Own overall solution architecture for the custom GRC platform (UI, workflow, data)
· Translate Operational Risk & GRC business requirements into scalable technical designs
· Lead delivery across:
o React‑based UI engineers
o Camunda workflow engineers
o Snowflake data engineers
· Define standards for coding, workflow modeling, data design, and integrations
· Partner with Risk, Compliance, Audit, and Product stakeholders to ensure regulatory alignment
· Drive build‑from‑scratch engineering (no vendor GRC products)
· Review designs, code, workflows, and data models for quality and consistency
· Leverage AI‑assisted development tools (e.g., Windsurf) to improve velocity and quality
Required Skills & Experience
· Strong experience leading custom GRC / Operational Risk platforms in financial services
· Deep domain knowledge of:
o RCSA, Issues Management, Loss Events
o Controls, KRIs, Risk Appetite
· Hands‑on experience with:
o React (enterprise UI)
o Camunda (workflow orchestration)
o Snowflake (risk data & reporting)
· Experience leading multi‑disciplinary engineering teams
· Strong stakeholder communication and ownership mindset
