Summary

We are seeking an Intermediate Data Engineer to help build and maintain a scalable data platform and analytics environment. This role focuses on developing reliable data pipelines, modeling and transforming data for analytics use cases, and ensuring data quality across systems. You'll work closely with senior data and analytics engineers while continuing to grow your technical and architectural skills.

In this role, you'll contribute to a Databricks-based Medallion architecture and partner with analytics, product, and business stakeholders to deliver trusted, analytics-ready data. The position reports to the Director of BI & Analytics and supports initiatives led by the VP of Data & BI, offering a clear growth path toward a senior engineering role.

Key responsibilities and qualifications include:

Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Databricks and cloud data services
Develop reusable ingestion and transformation frameworks for structured and semi-structured data
Maintain and enhance datasets across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers
Build and maintain data models and transformations using dbt
Write and optimize complex SQL queries for analytical workloads
Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and root cause analysis
Collaborate with analytics, product, and business teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions
Participate in code reviews, CI/CD processes, and continuous improvement initiatives
Document data models, pipelines, and operational processes
1-3 years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering
Strong SQL skills; experience with Python or PySpark
Experience with dbt and modern cloud data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift)
Familiarity with Git-based version control and core ETL/ELT concepts
Bonus: Databricks platform exposure, Terraform/IaC, CI/CD, API or streaming data, AWS, Scala
