Summary

Client Immediately Needs Mechanical Engineer in Automotive industry.

 

Mechanical Engineer specializing in automotive chassis design, structural components, and body control module integration. Experienced in full lifecycle development—from concept and CAD modeling to validation, durability testing, and cross‑functional collaboration with electrical, controls, and manufacturing teams. Strong background in designing robust, lightweight, and cost‑effective components that meet OEM performance, safety, and regulatory standards.

 

Core Responsibilities

  • Design and develop chassis components including frames, subframes, suspension brackets, control arms, mounts, and crash structures.

  • Support BCU‑related mechanical packaging, enclosure design, mounting strategies, harness routing, and thermal considerations.

  • Perform 3D CAD modeling (CATIA, Creo, NX, SolidWorks) and generate detailed engineering drawings with GD&T.

  • Conduct structural, vibration, fatigue, and modal analysis using FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus).

  • Collaborate with electrical and software teams to ensure BCU mechanical‑electrical integration meets functional and environmental requirements.

  • Lead DFMEA, PFMEA, tolerance stack‑ups, and design reviews for chassis and body control components.

  • Support prototype builds, root‑cause investigations, and issue resolution during vehicle testing.

  • Work with suppliers on manufacturability, cost optimization, and material selection (steel, aluminum, composites).

  • Ensure compliance with FMVSS, SAE, ISO 26262, and OEM-specific standards.

  • Prepare documentation for ECR/ECO, BOM creation, and release processes in PLM systems (Teamcenter, Windchill).
