Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Design Engineer with strong expertise in mechanical design, analysis, and aerospace components. The ideal candidate will play a key role in developing high-quality engineering solutions, working closely with cross-functional teams, and supporting end-to-end product development.

 


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering design analyses (tolerance stack-ups, hand calculations) to ensure fit, form, and function
  • Develop detailed mechanical designs, layouts, and drawings using CAD tools
  • Conduct FEA and CFD analysis to validate structural and thermal performance
  • Build, test, and evaluate prototypes for safety, reliability, and functionality
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain teams for Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
  • Create and maintain BOMs, engineering documentation, and reports
  • Apply GD&T standards (ASME Y14.5) in design and review processes
  • Support certification and compliance activities (FAA, TCCA, OEM)
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical leadership
  • Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and tools
  • Communicate project updates and interface with customers effectively

 


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 8+ years of hands-on mechanical engineering experience
  • Strong proficiency in CAD tools: SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Siemens NX
  • Experience with FEA/CFD tools (ANSYS or equivalent)
  • Experience in aerospace component design and analysis
  • Excellent communication and technical documentation skills
  • Ability to work in cross-functional engineering environments
  • Strong customer interaction skills
  • U.S. Citizenship required (ITAR compliance)

 


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with avionics or hardware interfacing with electronic systems
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and engineering outsourcing models
  • Exposure to project/program management
  • Experience creating standard work and process documentation

 


Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Primarily desk-based with computer work
  • Ability to navigate manufacturing facilities
  • Occasional lifting up to 15 lbs
  • Local travel to customer sites as required
