Junior Guidewire PolicyCenter Performance Engineer

Overview / Summary

We are seeking a Junior Guidewire PolicyCenter Performance Engineer to support performance testing, monitoring, analysis, and reporting for Guidewire PolicyCenter and BillingCenter applications. This role is ideal for candidates with foundational Guidewire knowledge and experience in performance engineering using LoadRunner and JMeter. The candidate will work closely with the onshore performance testing lead, senior analysts, QA teams, and developers to ensure optimal system performance and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

< data-end="778" data-start="746">Performance Testing Support
  • Assist in designing and executing performance test scenarios for PolicyCenter
  • Support load, stress, and endurance testing activities
  • Help simulate real-world business transactions including quote, bind, endorsement, and renewal
< data-end="1042" data-start="1014">Test Script Development
  • Develop and maintain performance test scripts using LoadRunner and JMeter
  • Parameterize scripts and handle dynamic correlations
  • Ensure scripts align with business workflows
< data-end="1248" data-start="1222">Monitoring & Analysis
  • Monitor application performance during test execution, including CPU, memory, database performance, and response times
  • Analyze performance test results and identify bottlenecks
  • Work with senior team members to interpret logs, traces, and metrics
< data-end="1542" data-start="1502">Guidewire Application Understanding
  • Gain understanding of PolicyCenter architecture and key transactions
  • Support validation of performance across integrations and APIs
  • Assist in identifying inefficient queries or configuration issues
< data-end="1780" data-start="1748">Defect Tracking & Reporting
  • Log and track performance defects
  • Prepare basic performance reports and dashboards
  • Collaborate with development and database teams for issue resolution

Required Qualifications

< data-end="1984" data-start="1969">Experience
  • 3 5 years of experience in performance testing
  • Exposure to Guidewire PolicyCenter (internship or project experience acceptable)
< data-end="2139" data-start="2118">Technical Skills
  • Good understanding and experience with LoadRunner
  • Basic knowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter
  • Understanding of web applications, APIs, and client-server architecture
  • Basic SQL knowledge for data validation
< data-end="2395" data-start="2371">Guidewire Knowledge
  • Familiarity with PolicyCenter workflows, including the quote-to-bind lifecycle
  • Understanding of insurance basics is a plus
< data-end="2546" data-start="2524">Analytical Skills
  • Ability to analyze response times and identify performance issues
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
< data-end="2689" data-start="2673">Soft Skills
  • Good communication skills and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to APM tools such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or Splunk
  • Basic knowledge of cloud environments including AWS or Azure
  • Understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies
  • Knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman or REST clients
