Summary

Build and automate the data workflows that power Gallup's survey research.

As a survey data operations analyst at Gallup, you'll transform complex survey and operational data into reliable, scalable datasets that power world-class research. In this role, you will build and support automated data pipelines, strengthen data quality processes, and help internal teams spend less time cleaning data and more time generating insights that change the world.

What You'll Do
  • Build and support data pipelines that ingest raw sample files, vendor files, API data and operational data and transform them into clean outputs for analysis and reporting
  • Organize respondent, project, survey, client and operational data into consistent and reusable datasets
  • Develop and maintain databases containing panelist, respondent and operational data
  • Validate data quality by checking completeness, accuracy, formatting and consistency and troubleshooting missing data, duplicates, file issues and schema changes
  • Ensure secure handling of sensitive and personally identifiable information
  • Automate manual and repetitive tasks by creating reusable scripts, templates, validation checks and scheduled jobs
  • Support workflows that move survey data into structured folders and reporting environments
  • Collaborate with analysts, methodologists, survey programmers, project managers, QA partners and other internal teams to translate business and research requirements into practical data solutions
  • Learn and apply survey data operations concepts including how sample, fielding and response data move through Gallup's research processes

Who We Want
  • Automation-minded problem-solvers who look for ways to make manual work faster, cleaner and more scalable through scripts, templates and repeatable processes
  • Detail-oriented quality champions who understand that small data issues can create big downstream problems and who demonstrate strong attention to data accuracy, privacy and integrity
  • Root-cause investigators who enjoy troubleshooting data issues, identifying underlying causes and implementing sustainable, repeatable solutions
  • Clear communicators who can explain technical concepts to internal stakeholders, collaborate effectively across teams and manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards
  • Reliable owners who take accountability for their work, meet deadlines, and handle sensitive data with professionalism and care
  • Technically curious professionals who are interested in exploring new tools, including AI, to improve efficiency and solve problems

What You Need
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, data analytics, mathematics, statistics, business, social science, market research or a related field required
  • Experience with Python, SQL and Excel required
  • Experience with R, APIs, Linux or command-line environments preferred
  • Experience building automated or repeatable data processes preferred
  • Experience working with structured data files or databases preferred
  • Exposure to survey or research data environments and interest in learning about survey research and data operations preferred
  • A commitment to working on-site at Gallup's Omaha office at least three days per week required
  • Must currently reside within a 250-mile radius of Omaha, Nebraska
  • Eligibility to work in the United States required; this position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship

What You'll Experience
  • Mission-driven work: Make a meaningful difference in the world with your unique contributions, commitment to service and exceptional outcomes.
  • An empowering culture:Collaborate with smart, passionate people who love what they do and welcome your ideas, perspectives and experiences.
  • Learning and development: Grow in your career as we invest in what you do best, encourage curiosity and create an environment where it's safe - and expected - to challenge the status quo.
  • Brand strength, startup energy: Thrive in an innovative environment backed by a trusted brand.
