RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer in Manhattan Veach, CA.

Summary:
This role is responsible for administering, tuning, and troubleshooting existing security tools and controls and keeping assigned operational and project work moving. While on the front lines of our global cyber defense practice, you will also be part of a team responding to incidents and alerts, while working proactively to identify and resolve cybersecurity issues. The role will involve working closely with various infrastructure, application, and business teams globally to identify and respond to issues as well as help facilitate secure operations.

This is a hands-on assignment for an experienced engineer who can learn the environment quickly, work independently within established processes, and make sound decisions with limited ramp-up time. Success in the role requires strong ownership, practical problem-solving, clear communication, and disciplined documentation to support an effective handoff at the end of the assignment.

Essential Job Results:
* Operate, tune, and troubleshoot endpoint security controls across Windows, Linux, and macOS workstations and servers
* Administer and maintain existing endpoint protection, application control, email security, and related security tools and policies
* Monitor tool health, agent coverage, policy application, and other operational indicators; Identify and resolve gaps with the appropriate IT teams
* Triage security alerts and reports from multiple sources and support incident response in real time as needed
* Investigate endpoint security issues, document findings, and coordinate remediation with infrastructure, application, and support teams
* Support existing endpoint hardening standards and security procedures, recommending targeted improvements when operational gaps are identified
* Perform focused security assessments of new or changed systems, processes, and technologies as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:
* 5+ years of experience in a dedicated cybersecurity role, or a combination of equivalent information technology experience, training, and education
* Strong working knowledge in cybersecurity, systems, cloud, or network engineering

Technical Qualifications:
* Strong practical knowledge of endpoint security operations, including endpoint detection and response, anti-malware, host firewall, application control, and system hardening
* Experience administering and troubleshooting enterprise endpoint and email security tools in a large, heterogeneous environment
* Strong knowledge of network and application protocols and their associated security implications (TCP/IP, HTTP, TLS, SSH, DNS, etc.)
* Experience working with servers and workstations running Windows, Linux, and OS X
* Working knowledge of scripting and automation (Python, PowerShell, etc.)
* GIAC, (ISC)2, or equivalent certifications a plus
* Strong experience with public cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) a plus

* Strong work ethic with attention to detail and ability to follow evidence
* Strong documentation habits with excellent written and oral communication skills
* Assumes a lead role in cybersecurity projects, incident response, and developing new concepts
* Ability to simplify and communicate complex data into a more easily understandable format

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
