Summary:<>We are seeking a highly skilled professional to provide technical and strategic leadership for enterprise High-Performance Computing (HPC) platforms that support advanced engineering, simulation, analytics, and AI/ML workloads. This role is responsible for defining and driving HPC architecture strategies, ensuring platform scalability, performance, reliability, and alignment with business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in HPC infrastructure, cloud technologies, systems architecture, and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

Lead the architecture, design, implementation, and lifecycle management of on-premises, hybrid, and cloud-based HPC environments.
Develop reference architectures for compute infrastructure, including CPU, GPU, and accelerator technologies.
Design and optimize high-speed networking solutions such as InfiniBand and high-performance Ethernet.
Architect parallel and distributed storage solutions to support large-scale engineering and AI workloads.
Translate complex business and technical requirements into scalable, resilient, and cost-effective HPC solutions.
Establish performance benchmarks, capacity planning models, and long-term scalability strategies.
Evaluate emerging technologies, conduct technical assessments, and influence platform roadmaps and vendor selection decisions.
Drive infrastructure automation initiatives using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and operational best practices.
Support executive-level decision-making through technology investment analysis, cost modeling, and strategic recommendations.
Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, reliability targets, and operational governance frameworks.
Collaborate closely with HPC operations teams, infrastructure teams, engineering stakeholders, and business leaders across the organization.
Participate in architecture reviews, governance boards, and enterprise technology planning initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
5–7 years of experience in HPC infrastructure, systems architecture, or enterprise platform engineering.
Strong experience administering and architecting Linux-based environments.
Hands-on expertise with HPC workload schedulers such as Slurm, PBS, or LSF.
Experience designing and supporting high-speed networking technologies, including InfiniBand and high-performance Ethernet.
Knowledge of parallel and distributed storage architectures.
Strong analytical skills with experience in capacity planning, performance analysis, cost modeling, and technology trade-off assessments.
Experience supporting executive-level technology strategy and investment decisions.

Desired Skills

Experience with cloud-based and hybrid HPC architectures.
Knowledge of GPU-accelerated computing environments and AI/ML infrastructure.
Hands-on experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
Experience participating in architecture governance councils, standards committees, or enterprise architecture initiatives.
Familiarity with modern data center technologies, virtualization, containerization, and orchestration platforms.

Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $47.00 - $48.00 /hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages. Packages may include medical, dental, and vision benefits, health savings accounts with qualified medical plan enrollment, 10 paid days off, 3 days paid bereavement leave, 401(k) plan participation with employer match, life and disability insurance, commuter benefits, dependent care flexible spending account, accident insurance, critical illness insurance, hospital indemnity insurance, accommodations and reimbursement for work travel, and discretionary performance or recognition bonus. Sick leave and mobile phone reimbursement provided based on state or local law.
