Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Systems Analyst / Interface & Documentation Specialist to support interface analysis, source-to-target mapping, data-flow documentation, and batch/job/file traceability. The ideal candidate will have strong mainframe systems analysis skills, excellent documentation practices, and the ability to deliver accurate, independently validated technical artifacts.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and independently validate source-to-target mappings for assigned interfaces.
• Build and maintain interface inventories covering layouts, element IDs, offsets, lengths, transformations, schedules, dependencies, and owners/SMEs.
• Create data-flow diagrams, process diagrams, and batch/job/file traceability documentation.
• Document investigation findings, identified gaps, open questions, source evidence, and unresolved assumptions.
• Prepare supporting PBIs (Product Backlog Items) and follow-up documentation.
• Address review comments and maintain version-controlled documentation and technical artifacts.

Required Skills & Experience

• Hands-on experience in Mainframe Systems Analysis.
• Strong understanding of batch processing, job flows, and file traceability.
• Experience with interface mapping and data-transformation analysis.
• Excellent technical documentation and version-control practices.
• Ability to maintain evidence trails, assumptions, logs, and unresolved issues.
• Experience creating data-flow and process diagrams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Ability to independently deliver accurate documentation and conduct stakeholder walkthroughs.
