About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced RF Systems Engineer to support the design, deployment, testing, and evolution of a portable private 4G/5G wireless network environment used for field testing, demonstrations, validation activities, and advanced telecommunications initiatives.

This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who combines expertise in RF engineering, wireless communications, systems integration, testing, technical documentation, and network architecture. You'll contribute across the entire project lifecycle, from requirements gathering and system design through integration, verification, and operational support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Capture, document, and implement functional, operational, and technical system requirements.
  • Provide engineering support throughout the project lifecycle, including concept development, requirements analysis, design, integration, testing, and verification.
  • Design, install, configure, and test RF systems supporting 4G and 5G wireless network infrastructure.
  • Develop engineering documentation, technical reports, test plans, validation procedures, and briefing materials.
  • Create schematics, block diagrams, and system layouts to support integration and deployment activities.
  • Perform system verification and validation to ensure performance, reliability, and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
  • Support RF distribution systems, switching infrastructure, and network optimization efforts.
  • Identify, document, and implement industry best practices related to wireless communications and public alerting technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, operations, and stakeholder teams to deliver technical solutions.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience supporting RF engineering, telecommunications engineering, wireless systems, network engineering, or related technical environments.
  • Hands-on experience with radio communications, telecommunications systems, RF technologies, or wireless network infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of LTE, 4G, and/or 5G technologies, performance metrics, and wireless network architectures.
  • Experience designing, testing, integrating, or troubleshooting RF and communications systems.
  • Working knowledge of FCC regulations and RF compliance requirements.
  • Experience developing and executing test plans, validation procedures, and system verification activities.
  • Understanding of IP networking concepts, including throughput, QoS, and network performance optimization.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering principles and lifecycle management.
  • Experience with technical writing, engineering documentation, and executive-level briefings.
  • Knowledge of high-speed network architectures and modern telecommunications environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5G Core, EPC, IMS, Open RAN, RAN, gNB/eNB, BBU architectures, and 3GPP standards.
  • Carrier-grade wireless technologies and network infrastructure.
  • Python, Shell, Bash, or other scripting languages used for automation and testing.
  • RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, BER testers, Keysight PNA-X, and FieldFox platforms.
  • AutoCAD, Visio, or similar engineering design and documentation tools.
  • RF distribution systems, RF switching, low-power amplifiers, power systems, and monitoring solutions.
  • Virtualized network functions and cloud-based telecommunications architectures.
  • Mission-critical communications, public safety communications, or large-scale enterprise wireless environments.
